2009 Junior Livestock Sale makes its Live Video Debut
PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale features a big change this year at the Colorado State Fair. For the first time ever, the sale will be broadcasting live video via the internet.
“Colorado’s 4-H and FFA work diligently throughout the year to receive this honor so we are very excited to provide this opportunity for everyone to see this important event,” said General Manager, Chris Wiseman.
Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale is the largest event of its kind in Colorado and the championship event for the state’s 4-H and FFA. The sale is instrumental in supporting the future of Colorado’s agribusiness as it demonstrates to youth the importance of raising quality livestock and the work required of those who pursue careers in agriculture. The sale also helps youth exhibitors raise money for college and to participate in future livestock projects. In 2008, the sale drew in $392,800 for Colorado’s 4-H and FFA youth.
“The Colorado State Fair would like to thank the generous buying groups who support Colorado’s youth in agriculture. Without them this event would not be possible,” said Wiseman. “The young people who participate in this event need to be recognized for their hard work and dedication, and the Jr. Livestock Sale provides that recognition.”
Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale will be held on Tuesday, September 1, at 4:00 pm at the Colorado State Fair’s Events Center. The live webcast can be found at www.coloradostatefair.com.
