PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2009 Colorado State Fair has come to a close offering eleven days of entertainment to nearly 497,000 people.
“The Colorado State Fair strives to provide a family friendly event at an affordable price while staying true to our goal of supporting youth and agriculture; I believe our increased attendance figures are a reflection of that effort,” said General Manager, Chris Wiseman.
Highlights from the 2009 Colorado State Fair:
• Attendance was up from 2008; 496,651 people attended the 2009 Fair which is 9,992 more than 2008.
• The annual Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale at the Colorado State Fair is one of the largest events of its kind in the state. The 2009 sale drew in approximately $350,500 for Colorado’s 4-H and FFA youth.
• The Fair offered a wide variety of free, family attractions including sharks, sea lions, lumberjacks, and monkeys.
• Over 59,000 people enjoyed the Colorado State Fair entertainment series.
“The Colorado State Fair management and staff would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Fair. We work throughout the year to provide a top-quality event but it wouldn’t be possible without those people who participate and enjoy everything we have to offer,” said Wiseman.
A profit/loss report is currently being figured and those numbers should be available in November. For more information about the 2009 Colorado State Fair, visit www.coloradostatefair.com.
