Agricultural Pavilion
Presented by the Colorado Department of Agriculture
10:00 am – 9:00 pm
“Agriculture is Everywhere!” in the Agricultural Pavilion. Colorado agriculture is showcased in a manner that is fun, educational and interactive for youth. Learn about the many services provided by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, from protecting pet animals, to ensuring a safe food supply, to promoting good stewardship of the land and natural resources. See exhibits from agricultural commodity and industry groups from around the state.

Kids of all ages enjoy this fun-filled Ag-venture where they can experience a variety of farm animals and hands on activities throughout the Pavilion including “crop boxes,” and a roping arena. This year the “Coloring Corral” is sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture National Ag Statistics Service Colorado Field office. “Farmer for a Day” is an interactive way to help kids think about where their food really comes from before they find it in the grocery store. Kids use a basket and gather apples from trees, eggs from chickens and dig in the sand to find potatoes. And no game is complete without a prize.

The “Colorado Livestock Security System” is how the Department of Agriculture monitors livestock diseases, keeps animals healthy and assists farmers and ranchers in times of crisis. CLSS works with the time honored tradition of branding to help lost or sick animals get the help they need. Find your family brand in the Colorado Brand Book featuring over 36,000 Colorado registered brands. Visit the Centennial Farms display listing over 300 farms and ranches that have received this prestigious recognition for being owned and operated by the same family for 100 years or more.

The Children’s FFA Barnyard presented by KKTV 11 delights all as they watch the piglets play and the chicks hatch. FFA participants work hard year-round taking care of the many different animals featured throughout the Agricultural Pavilion and in the Barnyard’s petting zoo and are on hand daily to visit with fairgoers about animals and the care they require. See the Agricultural Pavilion for posted times the petting zoo will be open. “Agriculture is everywhere!” Be sure to make the Agricultural Pavilion one of your stops at the 2010 Colorado State Fair.
