General Information for leasing Commercial Space
Contracts:
- Application consideration requires a deposit of $300 per
booth. See front inside page of this brochure for application
process.
- Balance due will be invoiced with contract, and must be paid on
time, in full.
- All contracts are subject to cancellation without refund if payments are not received by due date.

- No personal or business checks will be accepted.
- In the event of cancellation, for any reason, it is agreed that
exact damages to the Fair Authority would be difficult to
ascertain, therefore all monies paid to the Authority shall be
retained as liquidated damages. No refunds will be issued.
- Assigning, contracting or subletting location in whole or
in part, without written permission from the fair management, is prohibited.
- The Colorado State Fair reserves the right to determine final
location of any exhibit.
Commercial Exhibits Manual:
In an effort to “go green” this year, the Commercial Exhibits Manual is available on our website www.coloradostatefair.com . You must print and read handbook prior to sending in your application. A hard copy is available to you upon request only. Please call 719-404-2028 to request a copy. Complete details on Fair information, Commercial Exhibits policies and procedures, utilities, security, products/practices not allowed, maps, awards and storage are included in the Commercial Exhibits Manual.
Exhibit Hours of Operation:
Kitchen Craft Hall Exhibits: Daily – 11:00a - 10:00p
Outdoor Exhibits: Daily – 11:00a - 11:00p
(Outdoor exhibits may choose to stay open until midnight)
Exhibitor Credentials
Exhibitors will be issued admission strip tickets based on the value of the commercial space rented. A strip ticket includes 11 individual tickets. Two (2) parking permits for the South Parking Lot will be issued for each separate location leased.

Additional passes for exhibitors and their employees only, will be
available for purchase throughout the Fair at a discounted price.
Lost or stolen credentials will not be replaced. Children 6 and under are admitted free at any time.
Electrical:
Each exhibitor is required to pay a fee for electricity and an
electrical inspection. For a 10V hook-up, the fee is $5 per front
foot. For a 220V hook-up, the fee will be $325. All equipment,
regardless of power source, must comply with all national, state
and local safety codes. All cords used to connect to a power
source shall be three (3) wire grounded, UL approved type cord of
appropriate gauge. The Fair reserves the right to refuse to connect
service to a space that is not safe or wired according to code. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to provide appropriate cords and equipment for their booth.
Insurance Requirements/State Compliance:
Each exhibitor must have a current certificate of General Liability
Insurance and proof of Workers’ Compensation (if you have
employees) on file. The exhibitor will be required to submit a
certificate showing the following minimum insurance coverage:
1. Comprehensive General Public Liability and Property
Damage Insurance including personal injury and product
liability -- Bodily Injury $1,000,000 each occurrence,
Property Damage $1,000,000 each occurrence, and
$1,000,000 aggregate property damage. Any questions on
this matter should be referred to your insurance carrier.
a. The “State of Colorado” and the “Colorado
State Fair” must be listed on your policy as
Additional Insured not just as certificate holder.
b. If you need to purchase General Liability
Insurance, Haas & Wilkerson Insurance
provides the coverage needed for the Fair for
$88*. An application form will be sent to you if
awarded a contract.

2. Standard Colorado Workers’ Compensation and Workers’
Employers’ Liability including occupational disease,
covering all individuals engaged in performance of the work
at the site in the amount required by State Statutes.
a. If you do not have employees, you must fill out
a workers’ compensation EXEMPTION Form.
If awarded a contract, this form will be sent to
you.
Exhibitors must comply with all state and local laws and
regulations, including but not limited to laws and regulations
concerning taxation, health, safety, labor, employment and
licensing.
Drawings and Raffles:
Exhibitors may have drawings, provided the participation is free
to fairgoers. Exhibitors may have raffles, provided they follow
State regulations, and get prior approval by fair management.
Sales Tax 7.4%:
All product sales at the Fair are subject to Colorado State,
Pueblo County, and Pueblo City sales taxes. Commercial
exhibitors making sales to the public must be properly licensed
and remit the following percentages:
State of Colorado 2.9% City of Pueblo 3.5 % Pueblo County 1%
The State of Colorado Department of Revenue requires a sales
tax license fee of $8.00. Temporary offices will be established in
the Kitchen Craft Hall from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. the final day of the
Fair. Exhibitors must clear through these tax agencies prior to

The Colorado State Fair exemplifies the highest standards of the
Fair Industry. We strive to keep our grounds clean, and our
facilities in excellent repair. We respect our Fairgoers, and must
insist that our exhibitors do likewise. For our mutual benefit, we retain the right to remove any exhibitor,
and his/her exhibit from the fairgrounds should the fair management feel the exhibitor is not
in keeping with the overall purpose and policies of the Colorado State Fair.
