The Colorado State Fair Fiesta Committee was founded in 1966 by the Commissioners of the State Fair who recognized the importance and influence the Hispanic culture had on the southwest and the state of Colorado. In honor of our contribution the founders of our committee, Mr. Henry G. Reyes, Mr. John Sandoval, Mr. John Rosales, and Mr. Don Stedman and others began Fiesta Day.

Our committee consists of 25 active members. Officers of Coordinator, Co-Coordinator, Secretary, Treasure and four board members are elected in November. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Cultural Heritage Building at the Colorado State Fair. As an organization affiliated with the State Fair we have an office and conduct business at the Fairgrounds. All funds needed for operation come from Corporate Sponsorship and fundraisers, like our Noche de Fiesta. We invite anyone interested in promoting our culture through events like our Annual Fiesta Day Parade, Pageant, or Hispanic Art show, to please join us. We also provide the Fair with input on the entertainment of Fiesta Day.

One of the main goals of the CSF Fiesta Committee is to assist our young people in attaining their educational goals. With your help, we assist 7 college age students and 3 middle school students to receive over $9,500 in scholarships. In addition, to the scholarships our organization hosts several events, including:

Middle School Wardrobe Scholarship

The CSF Fiesta recognizes the importance of self-esteem in the success of our students. Statistics have shown this is especially true for middle school students. We have dedicated to the success of our youth by providing our middle school students with an opportunity to receive a wardrobe scholarship. A first, second and third place is given to a person in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. First place winners receive $150, second place $75, and third place receive $50 to purchase an outfit of their choice to begin their school year. A backpack stocked with school supplies such as pencil, paper, notebooks, calculator, markers, etc. is also provided to the first, second and third place winners.
