JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE BUYER

Livestock is a “Big” Agriculture business in the United States and big business is

driven through competition.   Open Breeding producers compete in livestock

categories from Goats to Bulls and new standards are set for each breed.

Exhibitors come from Colorado and across the United States each summer

to achieve Champion and Supreme Champion titles. Some of the best

breeding cattle in the world are shown at the Colorado State Fair.

The dedicated 4-H and FFA junior market youth exhibitors, all from

Colorado range from the ages of 8 to 18 bring various species to compete

in Junior Market shows. These exhibitors’ bring from rabbits and poultry

to goats and steers, each hoping to take home the coveted title. These

agricultural exhibitors compete in the largest Colorado’s market shows,

with the vision to be a sale qualifier for the most prestigious Junior

Livestock sale in the state. The proceeds from this sale can impact their

college education and individual agriculture opportunities.

Junior breeding exhibitor's expectations is to have their

breeding animal place as a Champion, Grand Champion and a

Supreme Champion or in Small Animals a Best of Breeed.

These titles will contribute to the development of their breeding programs

and give them an incentive that will impact their

future Ag business.
