Reservations
Fair will not guarantee availability of buildings/facilities nor hold dates until a non-refundable deposit has been submitted and a contract signed. Depending on the building and event, the deposit may be half of the rental fee and the damage deposit in some cases. This non-refundable deposit is applied to payment due for rental of building/facilities. Should the user cancel scheduled event at any time, the deposit is forfeited as an office charge.
Payments
All base payments and refundable damage deposits are due at least fourteen (14) days prior to the event. Depending on the event, some adjustable charge payments are approximated and are required prior to the event as well. Most percentage and some adjustable payments, if applicable, are due and payable immediately following the event.

Building rentals do not include the use of tables and chairs (
Set-up/Clean-up
Fair management determines set-up and clean-up requirements. In some of the buildings, the user may be able to waive the set-up/clean-up fee by providing these services themselves. Tables and chairs can be left in the building and the user can provide set up and arrangement, and at the end of the event, the user can provide clean-up and tear down. If you choose to have the Fair provide the set-up, specific lay-out information is required two weeks prior to the event.
Security
The Colorado State Fair provides its own security for all events held on the fairgrounds. No outside security personnel are allowed. Management determines which events require security and what levels of security are necessary. All events where alcohol is distributed require security. Security standard: minimum of 2 guards for the first 100 people and at least 1 additional guard for every additional 100 people. Events held at the

The Colorado State Fair also offers personnel for events held on the fairgrounds. Events held at the
Parking
Management determines which events require parking attendants and parking fees. Generally events held at the
Insurance
Users are required to provide public liability insurance policies with a minimum combined single limit of $1,000 naming the Colorado State Fair Authority and the State of
Patron Regulations
The Colorado State Fair does NOT allow smoking in any of its buildings.
Ticketed Events
The fair has an exclusive contract with Ticketmaster and some of the buildings/facilities require that all tickets be sold through them. A $3 facility fee is charged on all Ticketmaster events. Food/Beverage The fair has exclusive contracts with concessionaires in some of the buildings/facilities requiring that food and beverage be done with them. In all of the other buildings, the user is allowed to use their own choice of caters for the private distribution of food and beverage. Although if the user chooses to hire a vendor to sell food/beverage products at an event, the Fair will retain a percentage of all food and beverage concessions. All food products sold must be prepared in an inspected, licensed facility by fully insured individuals, groups or businesses. No home or private residence prepared food items including baked goods or candies may be sold. Liquor Some of the buildings/facilities have year round liquor licenses requiring that all alcohol must be purchased and distributed through the liquor license holder. In other buildings, the user is allowed to bring in and serve their own liquor free of charge. However, the only time you are allowed to sell alcohol is with a liquor license. Non-profit 501c3 organizations are able to obtain Special Event Liquor Licenses with the permission from the Fair. The Fair retains a percentage of liquor sales. In some cases the Fair can arrange for a non-profit organization to serve alcohol at a private event.
