50th PRCA Dodge Rodeo

It’s sure to be a party as the Colorado State Fair celebrates its 50th rodeo year sanctioned with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Aug. 27 - 31. PRCA’s top cowboys and cowgirls will bring spectators to the edge of their seats with wild rides and fast times.

If that isn’t enough to get your blood pumping--wait until Crash Cooper steps into the arena. Rodeo fans know they could be in for anything! Crash is known for his athleticism and for involving rodeo cowboys in crowd-pleasing stunts. This unique style comedy has made Crash a four time winner of Canada’s Entertainer of the Year.

Held in the Budweiser Rodeo Arena at 7:00 pm, fairgoers can enjoy the original extreme sport while the Colorado sunset paints the Pueblo sky.

Vold Rodeo Company, owned and operated by Harry Vold and his family, annually serves as the producer and livestock supplier for the Colorado State Fair PRCA Rodeo. Cat Country Rowdy Section
If you’re feeling rowdy, join other rodeo fans at the Northwest corner of the arena. For those true blue rodeo fans that like to be in the heart of the action, Colorado State Fair has teamed up with Cat Country 95.1 to create a special section for these folks.

Friends of Rodeo
In 1992, two Texas team ropers gave birth to Friends of Rodeo, in hopes of preserving America’s Western Heritage and protecting rodeo and other western events from anti-rodeo animal rights activism. The organization has over 30 volunteer representatives and more than 1000 members throughout the U.S. and Canada. The goal of Friends of Rodeo is to educate, whether it’s a school child, an adult spectator, or a legislator--Friends of Rodeo wants the world to appreciate the Western heritage of rodeo and its place in the present day world. Most importantly that rodeo animals are well cared for, appreciated and respected.
