We are seeking seasonal facilities maintenance personnel to perform the following duties: janitorial/custodial work; grounds keeping & preparation; event setup/cleanup; recycling collection; general maintenance/repair.
Jobs will begin between June 1 and August 1 and will end no later than September 30. Full and part time positions are available - previous experience is preferred but not required. If you have previous experience with any of the above job duties or any special trade such as equipment operation, welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, etc...please be sure to include this on your application.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to lift/exert 50 to 100 pounds to complete essential functions of the job
Must work up to a 16 hour shift including evening hours, nights, weekends and holidays with little or short notice due to event schedule.
Must be able to walk and/or stand for up to 4 hours continuously in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, snow, rain, etc.)
Must be willing and physically able (i.e. allergies) to work around animals, animal feed, animal bedding and waste. (You will be exposed to all types of animals including horses, livestock and circus animals.)
Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance and be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff members, exhibitors, vendors and customers.
Must have no prior arrest, charge or conviction for any of the following: sexual crimes (must not be a registered or unregistered sexual offender), crime against children or domestic violence.

Position performs building and grounds attendant duties during the 11-day State Fair. Maintains the cleanliness of public areas inside and outside by removing trash, wiping/sanitizing surfaces, mopping, sweeping & removing trash. Collects trash & recycling materials; cleans up animal waste & other debris as needed in outdoor areas. Assists with special event setup and cleanup to include moving and setting tables & chairs. Job begins August 22, 2013 and ends on September 2, 2013.
