Recycling at The Fair
The Colorado State Fair continues our commitment to preserving the environment by offering several recycle stations throughout the facility. The recycling collection containers were purchased in 2011 and 2012 with funds from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment’s Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity grant program.
The Fair currently collects the following for recycling: paper, cardboard, cooking oil, manure, animal bedding, glass, plastic, aluminum and scrap metal. Blue recycling stations are placed throughout the facility to collect plastic and aluminum beverage containers during our public events. Our vendors and exhibitors are also encouraged to use the designated recycling collection stations for cardboard, glass, scrap metal and cooking oil.
Thanks to the great participation from our vendors, exhibitors and visitors, it is estimated that the Fair collected over 400 tons of these materials since 2011. That’s 300 tons less garbage going to landfills!
It's the Fair's goal to help preserve the environment and stay current on "greener" options. Please help us continue our efforts by dropping your empty plastic and aluminum containers at one of our blue recycling stations.
