Seasonal Maintenance Workers perform very important jobs that help keep the fairgrounds looking great and help make all of our events successful. Duties include: restroom and building cleaning, trash/recycle pickup, special event setup/tear down, regular grounds keeping, minor repairs and maintenance duties. Season runs April through September.
Starting salary: $11.10 per hour
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to lift/exert 50 to 100 pounds to complete essential functions of the job
Must work up to a 16 hour shift including evening hours, nights, weekends and holidays with little or short notice due to event schedule.
Must be able to walk and/or stand for up to 4 hours continuously in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, snow, rain, etc.)
Must be physically able (i.e. allergies) to work around animals, animal feed, animal bedding and waste. You will be exposed to all types of animals including horses, livestock and circus animals.
Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance and be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff members, exhibitors, vendors and customers.
Must have no prior arrest, charge or conviction for any of the following: sexual crimes (must not be a registered or un-registered sexual offender), crime against children or domestic violence.
