Celebrate Fiesta Day at the Colorado State Fair
PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State Fair honors Colorado’s ties to the Hispanic culture on Sunday, September 2, with Fiesta Day.
After the Fiesta Day parade, which winds its way through Pueblo, the fairgrounds will come alive with mariachi music, dancers, and other events that feature the strength and excellence of the Hispanic culture.
Since 1967, Fiesta Day has been a celebration of the Hispanic culture in Colorado. This year is the 46th anniversary of Fiesta Day and the creation of the Colorado State Fair Fiesta Committee.

The Colorado State Fair Fiesta Day Parade, sponsored by the Colorado State Fair Fiesta Committee, is celebrating its 46th anniversary this year. This year’s theme is “Sentiminento de la Cultura,” which means “inspiration of culture.” The Traditional Mariachi mass in Minnequa Park begins at 8:00 a.m. and the parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on East Abriendo Ave., and travels down Northern Ave., ending on Sprague Ave. Six trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding parade entries.
2012 Colorado State Fair Fiesta Queen and Court
The Fiesta Queen and her court will be presented at the Pepsi Stage presented by KKTV 11 News and each young lady will perform.

Hispanic Art Exhibit
11 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. each day, Cultural Heritage Center
The Hispanic Art Exhibit at the Cultural Heritage Center will be celebrating its 12th anniversary this year at the Colorado State Fair. Coordinated by El Escritorio Publishing, the exhibit showcases Hispanic art and culture through an art exhibit at the Cultural Heritage Center in Triangle Park. This year’s theme is “Tradition, Imagination and Innovation” in Hispanic art.
GOAL Academy Mural
A new mural is on display on the North side of the Cultural Heritage Center. The GOAL Academy, the online high school in Colorado, has worked closely with the Fiesta Committee to create the new mural to represent the beauty and pageantry of the Hispanic heritage.
Plus three free stage Entertainment throughout the day!
Additional events can also be found across the fairgrounds including free animal shows, an exotic petting zoo, livestock and horse shows, a juggler, a ventriloquist, and much more.

The 2012 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair's 140th year as Colorado's premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado's ties to the Hispanic culture.
