State Fair Fans: Don’t Forget to get your Cashless Card Refund
Fair Offering Refunds On-Line Until July 29, 2014 and during the 2014 Fair
PUEBLO, Colo. – Refunds from last year’s “Cashless Card” at the Colorado State Fair are still available; however, the window for those refunds closes when the Fair ends September 1, 2014. On-line requests close July 29, 2014 at midnight.
Last year, the Colorado State Fair implemented a new Cashless Card system in which Fair visitors loaded money onto cards and used those cards to buy food, drinks and rides during the Fair. The Fair is not using the card system for the 2014 event, and has no plans of returning to this particular system in the future. Some Fair visitors may still have money left on their card accounts from last year.
Fair visitors can apply for a refund of their unspent money through the Fair’s website. The deadline to make an on-line application for refund is Tuesday, July 29, 2014. After that time, the Fair will only process refunds during the run of this year’s Fair which isAugust 22-September 1, 2014.
Anyone wanting a refund after July 29, 2014 will have to visit the Fair’s office inside the Palace of Agriculture, on the grounds of the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo during the Fair. Fair time office hours will be from the opening of the Fairgrounds each day until7 pm.
Fair visitors have until 7 pm on September 1 to make sure they get any refunds they have coming from last year. After that, pursuant to state law (Section 38-13-108.2(1), C.R.S.) any non-refunded moneys will be considered abandoned property, and the Colorado State Fair will submit such property to the administrator of Colorado’s Unclaimed Property Fund.

The Colorado State Fair runs August 22 - September 1, 2014. For more information, visit www.coloradostatefair.com.
The 2014 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair's 142nd year as Colorado's premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado's ties to the Hispanic culture.
