Do you have Colorado’s Blue-Ribbon Voice?
Singing contest accepting entries via YouTube and finalists compete at the Colorado State Fair
PUEBLO, Colo. - You could be singing at the Colorado State Fair if you are one of 12 online vote-getters of the Fair’s first-ever Colorado’s Blue-Ribbon Voice contest.
Now through August 11, Colorado residents can submit videos of themselves singing (up to 5 minutes) for the Colorado’s Blue-Ribbon Voice contest. The two entry categories are age ranges 6-15 and 16-21.
The public will look at the videos and vote August 11-17. The top six vote-getters in each age range will compete at the Fair on August 24 on the Coke Stage for a panel of judges. The winners get cash prizes, passes to the Fair and carnival, and the right to call themselves Colorado’s Blue-Ribbon Voice.
Entries are made through the Fair’s Facebook page at http://a.pgtb.me/MbZzGQ and videos are to be uploaded to YouTube. Professional singers are not allowed and participants under 18 must have the permission of their parent or legal guardian.
The Colorado State Fair runs August 22 - September 1, 2014. For more information, visitwww.coloradostatefair.com.
The 2014 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair's 142nd year as Colorado's premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado's ties to the Hispanic culture.
