Calling All Artists! Enter the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition

August 1st Deadline

 

PUEBLO, Colo. –Artists throughout Colorado are busy preparing their finest artwork for the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. The popular and prestigious part of the annual event showcases original artwork by Colorado residents and is one of the longest running and finest traditions of the Colorado State Fair. 

 

The long list of accepted mediums include painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry/metalsmithing, and others. Two divisions for artwork submission are being offered: Emerging Artist and Professional. All artwork chosen for the exhibition will be on display in the Fine Arts Building during the entire length of the Fair.

 

Artists may enter between now and August 1, 2015, through the Fair’s General Entry office, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm, or call 719-404-2080. For more information on the exhibition, visit http://www.coloradostatefair.com/p/events/competitive-events/241.

The 2015 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair's 143rd year as Colorado's premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado's ties to the Hispanic culture.
