Put On Your Game Face For The Cookie Wars

 

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Girl Scouts of Colorado are hosting an epic battle of good versus…well…really good.

 

On Tuesday, September 1st at 6pm, the “Creative Cookie Wars” will highlight artwork created on-the-spot made from Girl Scout cookies. Participants will receive cookie kits provided by the Girl Scouts of Colorado and then will let their creatively flow to create an original piece of art created entirely by the participants during the allotted time.

 

Judging will be based on the best use of materials, originality, and artwork theme. Any student in kindergarten through 8th grade may participate. Participants can be individual or enter as a team with a maximum of three. No Adults. To register, contact the Girl Scouts of Colorado at 719-543-4690.

 

Prizes:

·         Each Finalist: $15 (a total of 3 finalists), a certificate of recognition, artwork posted on the Girl Scout social media pages.

·         Best of Show: $60, a certificate of recognition, artwork posted on GS social media pages.

·         All contestants will be recognized with a certificate of participation.

·         All registered Girl Scout participants will also receive a fun patch, provided by Girl Scouts of Colorado.

The 2015 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair's 143rd year as Colorado's premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado's ties to the Hispanic culture.
