Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale

Honors Colorado’s 4H & FFA Youth

PUEBLO, Colo. – The annual Colorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale at the Colorado State Fair has come to a close. According to preliminary totals, the 2015 sale accumulated approximately $531,300.00 from the state’s most dedicated bidders. Last year’s sale totaled $481,200. This year has set the record sale for Grand Champion Market beef at $60,000. The sale is instrumental in supporting the future of Colorado’s agribusiness as it demonstrates to youth the importance of raising quality livestock and the work required of those who pursue careers in agriculture.

“This sale is the culmination of long hours and dedicated work of Colorado’s 4-H and FFA exhibitors. The participants are a showcase of tomorrow’s agricultural leaders. Over the past 36 years, the Colorado State Fair Junior Livestock Sale has raised over $9,215,550 for the youth involved in these programs,” said State Fair General Manager, Chris Wiseman.

“We would also like to thank the generous bidders for their participation. Every bidder here is graciously supporting these kids, and they are clearly in it for the kids,” said Robyn Toft, State Fair Interim Livestock Manager.
